By now, many of you have heard the news of Father Jason Espinal’s assignment as
the pastor of Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Williamsburg. The assignment takes place on
It is no surprise that Bishop DiMarzio has recognized the great pastoral work that Father
Espinal has done since his ordination six years ago. We, as a parish, have been privileged to have had a role in his formation as a parish priest and our loss is Saints Peter and Paul’s gain.
Due to the current conditions in effect because of Covid-19, we don’t know when there
will be a final farewell for Father, but whether it is at the end of June or in the Fall, either I or
Father Abels will be sure to arrange one. Father Espinal asks for our prayers as he embarks on this next phase of his priestly ministry and I am certain that we’ll all oblige.
May has been the traditional month of devotion to Mary, the Mother of God, and the rosary is a special prayer form by which we honor her. Since many have more time at present due to the virus, why not pray the rosary or pray a second one if you already do. Our Mother’s Day Novena of masses begins next week.
Again, I want to express my gratitude to those of you who have kept up with your church
envelopes through the mail, the drop box in the rectory vestibule or with online giving. Your
love of the parish is inspiring to me and my brother priests.
Let’s pray for each other
Msgr. Kevin B. Noone
